Andrew Downs

Andrew Downs started his career in commercial banking, accumulating experience in middle market lending, highly leveraged transactions, commercial real estate lending and workouts. In 1997, he joined The Prudential Financial, Inc. to start and lead a new business that would, operating alongside its residential real estate franchise business, make loans to and equity investments in Prudential’s franchisees. Following the sale of that business, Andrew joined Prudential Private Capital (PPC) in Chicago to become the Chief Financial Officer of its mezzanine funds business. PPC has several offices in the European Union, and the possibility of the United Kingdom leaving the EU left PPC in need of a solution to looming regulatory problems. After eight years in Chicago, Andrew finished his career with Prudential in Ireland, where he started and ran a new legal entity that would bring those offices under the regulatory supervision of the Central Bank of Ireland. Andrew retired in 2020, and now lives in Colorado with his wife Beth.
